The sample king strikes again with a brand new music video for arguably his best song yet, 'Block Hug'. Jim Legxacy is providing a new and unique dimension to the UK music scene, blending genres, while still evoking a sense of nostalgia.
Jim is rightly my favourite artist right now. He has a gift of storytelling in the most light-hearted yet touching way; whilst creating songs that you can vibe to in any setting. The idea of him blending certain samples together sounds crazy, yet they always somehow work out. Who would’ve thought a song from Hannah Montana would be transformed into another one of Jim’s masterpieces, ‘Mileys Riddim'?
Jim Legxacy hasn’t strayed too far from his usual music video style with 'Block Hug', by featuring himself and his guys in and around Lewisham. 'Block Hug' reveals Jim’s struggle of dealing with heartbreak and finding himself, whilst living in the hood. Throughout the album, which he wrote whilst being homeless, we are taken on his journey of confusion, fear, and appreciation for his community, which is represented in the clever yet chaotic visuals.
