ASAP Rocky really has been living a new life for the past 5/6 years, pretty much leaving the rap game and focusing on other things in life. It is actually pretty impressive he has remained relevant within the rap game and still been getting bookings for shows and festivals. The rapper hasn’t dropped an album since 2018 and he hasn’t dropped a new single since July 2023. It has been speculated that his upcoming album is schedule for the end of this month Aug 30th, but no date has been confirmed yet. The fact that Rocky has dropped a new single is certainly a promising sign though.
Many fans have been thinking this moment would never come but it does feel like Rocky is really back. ‘HIGHJACK’ finds the rapper link up with Jessica Pratt who plays to her strengths in the chorus of the track. The Harlem rapper sounds confident as ever, he clowns his enemies and reminisces on the success he has had over the past decade. He also references Future abs Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That’ record in his new track, it is clear he has plans to diss Drake on his upcoming album.
