NEW ALBUM: Wizkid - Morayo

Wizkid dedicates his latest album to his mother and she will definitely be smiling down on him from above. The Afrobeats artists had openly communicated with his fans that he would be dedicating his sixth album to Jane Morayo Balogun after her tragic passing in August last year. Despite it only being just over a year since her passing, that doesn’t take away the quality body of work Wizkid has produced here. This new album offers one of his most diverse track lists to date and has been curated perfectly.

He’s pushing boundaries on this tape, bringing so many different sounds and flavours of African music to the 16 tracks in total. Wizkid takes us on an emotional rollercoaster throughout the project, giving us outburtsts of energy and adding sober cut moments about love and his mother. It’s almost like his Mother predicted his future and he touches upon this on ‘Pray’ where we hear him thank her for her unwavering belief of him becoming an unstoppable force in his lane. “Mama call me Ayo Balogun, they can never find another you” he says in the track.
