Krept & Konan are making waves in retail with the launch of Saveways, a large-scale supermarket tailored to the needs of Black, Asian, and ethnic communities. Opening on Saturday, 1st February 2025, in their hometown of Croydon, Saveways is a joint venture with entrepreneur Kaysor Ali, known for founding the Steakout and Smacks Hamburgers franchises.
The 15,000 sq. ft supermarket is a game-changer for inclusivity in UK retail, offering specialist counters for halal meat, exotic fish, and global produce alongside an in-store bakery. Shoppers will also find Afro hair and beauty products, household essentials, and an extensive selection of chilled, frozen, and tinned ethnic foods. With over 30 local jobs created, Saveways is set to become a vital community hub.
The multi-story world foods supermarket also embraces modern retail technology with self-serve kiosks, click-and-collect services, and partnerships with Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat, redefining convenience for underserved communities. The supermarket also features onsite parking and a wholesale option, enhancing its appeal to customers across Croydon and beyond.
This new venture from Krept & Konan builds on their entrepreneurial success, including the Crepes & Cones restaurant and Krept’s award-winning baby skincare brand, Nala’s Baby. With Saveways, the duo continues to champion innovation and inclusivity, setting a new standard for representation in the UK grocery market.
