Kanye West is adding fire to the fuel as tensions rise with Adidas, this time the spotlight is on sneaker designs. The artist took to social media to let fans know exactly what he thought about Adidas and accusing them of lifting ideas from his brand Yeezy. He didn’t just stop there, he specifically called out Fear Of God Athletics line, which is led by Jerry Lorenzo. Kanye accuses the clothing line mimicking his aesthetic and biting his style. This accusation highlights a much bigger problem within the fashion industry - circulating around creative ownership. Yeezy has redefined modern footwear with futuristic designs and now he is claiming that Adidas is cashing in on his innovation without crediting its source.
Ever since The Fear Of God Athletics line launched, it gained a lot of attention. However some of their designs have raised eyebrows on the internet, over their originality. Their sleek line and bold colour blocking have made people draw comparisons to Yeezy designs from the past. This isn’t the first time Adidas have been hit with these allegations either, back in 2022 when Yeezy and Adidas parted ways, there were already claims that the worldwide brand already started repurposing the Yeezy aesthetic.
