Birmingham’s own Jaykae has kicked off 2025 in unstoppable form - balancing his rising profile in the boxing world with a return to music that’s making just as much noise. Following the punchy drops ‘Switched On’ and ‘Random Blocks’ featuring 0121 newcomer Trizz, he now steps up with the lead single and title track from his forthcoming album, ‘Hooligan’.
The new release sees Jaykae tick off a major career milestone - teaming up with UK music icon Mike Skinner of The Streets. It’s a collaboration that’s been years in the making, with both artists sharing deep ties to the city and a mutual respect forged through touring and championing Birmingham on national stages. Now, that creative chemistry explodes on this A-Class produced banger.
Recorded during the peak of the pandemic, ‘Hooligan’ is an unfiltered, high-octane anthem layered with grit and authenticity. But the impact is taken to another level with a striking visual - expertly directed by Cal Barnes, Jonny Costello, and team, capturing the defiant, unapologetic spirit of the city. Featuring a raw and realistic reenactment with Birmingham City’s infamous Zulu Army, the video encapsulates the untamed energy at the heart of the track.
With the 'Hooligan' album incoming and a collaborative EP with Trizz and M1llionz also on the way, 2025 is shaping up to be a defining year for Jaykae, a true flag bearer for Birmingham’s ever-evolving sound.
