The wait is finally over, it feels like it has been forever since the duo announced they would be dropping a collab album. Since then Drake has been on tour in Australia, PND has dropped off some solo tracks and now it’s that time. Valentines Day was a release date that made sense for this project, as you can tell by the album title, it isn’t your usual rap heavy album from Drake. The duo certainly live up to the hype as Drizzy makes his return to the R&B scene whilst PND keeps his foot on their necks, doing what he does best.
The 21 track album is released under OVOSounds with exclusive licensing by Republic Records which we all know are tied to UMG. A label the 6ixGod is currently in a feud with, many fans are speculating this will be his final project under UMG. I guess we will have to wait for his rumoured solo project to find out.
With most albums there are always 1 or 2 stand outs but with ‘$$$4U’ there seems to be an array of tracks getting the shout for being people’s favourites. One that has stood out in particular on the internet has been ‘GIMME A HUG’ a track that finds Drake getting in his feelings and reflecting on the past couple months.
