Doechii delivers sitcom-themed visuals for 'Denial Is A River'

Doechii has once again demonstrated her boundary-pushing creativity with the release of the music video for ‘Denial Is A River’. Taken from her critically acclaimed project 'Alligator Bites Never Heal', the video was initially teased as a TV series, leaving fans intrigued and eager for more. What followed was a sitcom-inspired masterpiece, blending nostalgia with Doechii’s unique artistic flair.

Co-directed by Carlos Acosta and James Mackel, the video pays homage to classic Black sitcoms like 'Family Matters', complete with its own version of the iconic “As Days Go By” theme song. The cinematic visuals also feature an impressive lineup of cameos, including Schoolboy Q, Baby Tate, Earl Sweatshirt, DJ Miss Milan, Teezo Touchdown, SiR, and more.


‘Denial Is A River’ serves as another testament to Doechii’s artistic ingenuity and her willingness to take risks, and it is safe to say that this move caps off an incredible 2024. The rising star is already eyeing a massive 2025 with up to three Grammy nominations for Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, and Best Rap Performance for 'Nissan Altima’ and as she gears up for another groundbreaking year, ‘Denial Is A River’ stands as a reminder of why she is one of the most exciting and innovative artists in the game today.
